Now is the time of year when we are wanting to perk up that grass that’s been sitting brown all winter and make it look green again. We are craving that green lawn and want it to perk up quickly. There are lots of options for making that happen. I’m just going to mention a few.
Compost
Plan to aerate your lawn or hire someone to remove plugs. This is now a good time to add some compost. Consider a ¼” compost that is fine enough to settle down into the grass and fill into the holes that were made from the plugs of lawn. Compost used in this way adds needed organic matter to the soil to improve soil structure. It brings natural nutrients to the lawn roots as well as new microbial action. Compost stimulates the roots and gives them something to grow into when they fill in the new space. Compost also contains humic acids which are natural fertilizers. There are lots of benefits to this method of lawn greening.
Biological
You may want to have a safe lawn space for your kids or pets. Biological product is a way to have a healthy natural treatment for the lawn. Consider the Soil Diva soil and plant biological treatment.
